Description of Project
The project I chose for this category is the Protista project that I was assigned in A.P. Biology. The objective of this project was to help us and other students in or class learn about different protistas in a fun and different way. Dr. Moody asked us to work in partners and create a presentation on our protista friend using some sort of multi-media such as prezi and weebly. In this project we presented the nickname of our protista, what the protista does for a living and other cute thigs that one would know about their protista "friend".
LEAD09-10.COMM1: When I started to create this project I had to consider who I was presenting to, although the project had been set by Dr. Moody my audience was going to be my A.P. Biology classmates. So, I had to think of what would capture their attention. My project was going to be presented after several others so I had to consider the audience's attention, the probability that they would not be paying attention to my project was very high; so, I had to devise a plan to attract their attention. LEAD09-10.COMM2: In order to make sure that the class would stay attentive to my project I devised a way to present it that would draw attention to me and to the project. I planned to speak loudly and to move around the board. I also planned to speak very clearly and at a moderate pace so that there was time for the class to catch my individual words. (Emerging)
LEAD09-10.COMM3: I wanted to take advantage of the resources that I had available to me. Since Dr. Moody had very specifically said that we could not use a PowerPoint to present our project; I decided that a prezi would be the most effective in both by using my resources and capturing my audience's attention. LEAD09-10.COMM4: Although I was prepared to present and make sure my project was effective, I was still able to gain some sort of feedback from my audience by paying attention to how the other Protista projects were being received. Through these observations I was able to see that what really called the attention of the audience was adding funny and humorous script to the presentation. Anything from lame jokes, puns, and word play helped the class stay focused on projects. (Developing)
Description of Project
I chose one of Mr. Seniors projects for this category. In these projects you had to analyze information and create a good PowerPoint that would engage the audience attention and convey the necessary information. We had to use the tools in at our disposal such as videos and pictures to help the audience along. At the end we would study the audiences reaction so that we could create a more successful PowerPoint later on.
LEAD09-10.COMM1: I had to understand the different back grounds of the audience I was addressing and then I had to make sure that I displayed the information in an effective and concise form so that my audience could benefit from my presentation.
LEAD09-10.COMM2: I had to add diagrams and pictures to my Power Point so that my audience that needed to visualize information could have a way to see what I was presenting displayed before them.
LEAD09-10.COMM3: I made sure that the program I was using to present my research to the class was useful and did not distract them of the information and the message that I was trying to convey.
LEAD09-10.COMM4: After the presentation I analyzed the audiences response to my presentation in the form of the questions that they asked me if the questions were of information on the presentation it means that I did not do my job of presenting the information in a memorable form.
Description of Project
This project was assigned in Pre-AP chemistry Mrs. Bovkun. The purpose of this project is to help us learn the different trends of the periodic table by researching and presenting the different trends. I had to understand the information I had been assigned to research and then present it in a form that would be easily understandable. For this project i had to fully understand the information that i was presenting because i would have to present it orally and at the same time i had to make sure that it was understandable.
LEAD09-10.COMM1: I had to understand what Mrs. Bovkun was looking for, what sort of information that she was looking for, I had to understand the information I was presenting so that I could adequately respond to the questions she was asking me.
LEAD09-10.COMM2: My team and I had to make sure that we all understood the information and what we were probably going to be quizzed on, I also had to make sure that I my idiosyncrasies did not disturb my presentation.
LEAD09-10.COMM3: For this project we used a tri-fold board and we placed the periodic table on it so that other people could understand what we were talking about and we also had to write down the information in a way that others could easily understand and read.
LEAD09-10.COMM4: After Mrs. Bovkuns questions I believe that I understood the information a lot better than I had begun, Mrs. Bovkuns questions helped me understand the information I was presenting much better and it helped me focus on the important details.
