Description of Project
The project that I chose is my Spanish brochure projects. In this project I was presented with a problem, how do I describe an interesting and important site in a way that would encourage visits from tourists to the area and I how do I do it in Spanish?
LEAD09-10.INV1: In this project I tried to create more awareness about the Llanganates national park in Ecuador by trying to educate my reader about the kinds of things that one can find in the park. (Emerging)
LEAD09-10.INV2: To try and provide as much information as possible I used several sources for the information that I put into the brochure. In this project I learned how to use a variety of international and domestic sources. (Developing)
LEAD09-10.INV3: Using the information I gathered I had to then try to convince my reader to visit the site. The information that I included in the brochure included information about the climate, frequency of volcanic eruptions, and the kinds of species that coud be found at the site. (Developing)
LEAD09-10.INV4: When I wrote my brochure I had to consider the different readers and the kinds of things that they would find interesting so I had to work to find a very varied amount of information that would entice the possible tourists to go to Ecuador. (Emerging)
Description of Project
The project that I chose to represent this characteristic is one of the snapshots that was assigned to us by Mr. Sears. In the snapshots you had to collect, categorize, and analyze facts and information of the assigned empires. After you had filled in a SPICE sheet for every empire you then analyzed the information and created small prompts that compared and contrasted the different features of the empires.
LEAD09-10.INV1: This project is a great example of investigating the world because I had to look at the information and think of basic questions, something that could be asked of all empires. I had to ask about the position of the empire globally, how it interacted with other empires, regionally how it interacted within, the type of government and more and finally locally, how they managed the land they worked with. A question I could ask myself is, how all do all of these empires survive by their own, what made them and destroyed them?
LEAD09-10.INV2: While I looked for information to answer the questions, I had to look into different sources. The sources I used varied, sources that were domestic and some that were international. With all of this information and different perspectives into the empires I had to divide and analyze the information so that I could better understand the empires that I was researching.
LEAD09-10.INV3: I collected all of the information and had it categorized, I then had to analyze and integrate it into answering several question that were included in the project. This fits into this section because I had to sort through a lot of information, and I also had to analyze all if of the information for four empires. I had to think about the differences and similarities between the empires and how this was significant to the overall growth or downfall of these empires.
LEAD09-10.INV4: As I read and analyzed the information I had to look into what would benefit me the most in answering the questions I had to answer, one of the things I had to look at was the perspective of the information I received, how reliable it is and if the perspective supports the question I am posing.
Description of Project
This project was assigned to the M.U.N class by Mr. Secord, the point of this project was to try and see what a world war was like. The class was divided into groups and each group was given a country. I was the assigned as the Sultan of Turkey, in the bottom right corner, and my goal (like everybody else's) was to try and gain as many resource spots as possible and be the biggest, I had to strike deals and make alliances and talk to other countries so that I could advance in the game. This game helped me develop characteristics that I feel fit in well with investigating the world, I learned the importance of diplomacy, second of all I had ask myself questions, and work with the evidence that I was given to make a proper, efficient and smart choice for each of my moves making sure I optimized the usage of my resources armies, time, and land. The route I took, the choices I made and the questions I asked myself have helped me understand they way countries react during war, a global issue. I got a 100 on this project and give myself a 7 out of 10 for this category.
LEAD09-10.INV1: We identified the global, regional, and local issue of war and its effects. We asked questions such as, how countries build armies, and some of the reasons they expand.
LEAD09-10.INV2: We used information from foreign sources to understand the position of our country, we had to consider the amount of resources we had and how we interacted with the countries around us.
LEAD09-10.INV3: Using the information that we collected throughout the game we were able to focus on a way to defeat the other countries we used this information to answered a globally focused question such as how do countries react to foreign threats and what sort of things do they focus on during war.
LEAD09-10.INV4: This project was not only about understanding the needs of how a singular country reacts during a war but also how a country allied with another meets their demands, we answer questions such as how will out needs affect the needs of our allies and such.
